Express your gratitude for the teacher’s dedication, patience and ability to inspire, and share specific examples of how they had a positive impact on you or your child. For instance, you could mention a particularly memorable lesson or a skill your child has picked up.

Here’s an example of a simple and heartfelt teacher thank you note:

“Ms. Johnson, I'll never forget how you stayed after class to help me understand fractions. Your patience and encouragement didn't just help me with math, it showed me I could overcome any challenge if I kept trying. Thank you for believing in me!”

Most people give teachers appreciation cards at the end of the school year or during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

That said, there's never really a wrong time to say thanks to a teacher. If your teacher just rocked an amazing lesson or helped your kid through a tough spot, why wait? A surprise thank you can really brighten their day.

Teacher Appreciation Week is typically celebrated during the first full week of May. National Teacher’s Day also falls on the Tuesday of that week. It’s a great time to show your love and support for the teachers that help their students grow into better versions of themselves.

Keep in mind that some schools and communities may choose to celebrate Teacher’s Day or Teacher Appreciation Week at different times based on their academic calendars.
