How to Spend Your Collection

So, you've collected money with GroupTogether and want to know what’s next! Now comes the fun part: spending it. Whether you’re buying someone special a gift, sending an eGift Card or withdrawing the funds, our simple guide will take you through each step.

Why choose a GroupTogether collection? 

Ever tried collecting money for a gift the old-fashioned way? You know – chasing everyone down for cash, sending awkward reminders in the group chat, and then that last straw when you realise you’ll have to foot the bill for the missing $20! Not fun. That’s where a GroupTogether collection comes in. It’s the easy, online way to pool funds and collect messages for a group card, without losing your sanity – or your gifting street cred. In just a few clicks, everyone chips in, signs the card and you’ve got one awesome, stress-free group gift ready to go. Zero chasing involved – we promise. We do the hard stuff so you can enjoy the good stuff, like that warm and fuzzy feeling when they open their gift. 

Step 1: Login 

Login to your dashboard from the GroupTogether homepage and click on the collection you want to spend. 

Tip: Got more than one collection? Make sure you select the correct one before moving on.

Step 2: Close collection 

To spend your funds, your collection needs to be closed first. If it’s still open, we’ve got three easy steps to solve that:

• Click “Edit/Close."
• Then select “Close now."
• Then hit “Save."

Once it’s closed, the real fun begins – it’s time to start choosing gifts!

Step 3: Go to our Gift Store

Click the “Select gift or withdraw” button to open the GroupTogether Gift Store. Here you’ll find well over 100 eGift Cards, experiences and curated gifts – from flowers and pot plants to chocolate and wine hampers, there’s something for everyone. (Yes, we mean everyone!)

Step 4: Choose from gifts, eGift Cards or withdraw the funds (AU only)

Once you’re in the Gift Store, it’s time to shop – you’re not alone, it’s our favourite part too! 

Is trying to pick a gift giving you shopping paralysis? Try out our AnyCard and let them choose their own eGift Card.  

Tip: If you're in Australia, you can also withdraw the funds for a flat 2% fee. 

Step 5: Review gifts and card

All done choosing your gift? It’s time to add it to your shopping bag – here you can easily review, edit or delete the gift details. In two simple steps, you’ll be at the checkout:

• Enter the details for each gift and click “Add to shopping bag."
• Use the right and left arrows to view the card, and click the turquoise pen to edit your shopping bag.
• If you’ve added a group card, click “Proceed to review card.” If not, click “Proceed to checkout."

Easy, right? 

Step 6: Verify and you're done!

We'll send a verification code to your phone and email – enter it to confirm your checkout, and you’re all ready to go! You’ll see a confirmation page with all your gift details. From there, you can:

• Download the gift and card as a PDF to print and hand out.
• View and resend any eGift Cards straight from the page.

What happens next?

Having a The Graduate moment and wondering what to do now? Take a load off knowing that we’ve got you covered! Here’s how it works:

• For physical gifts like flowers and hampers: You’ll get an email from our gift partner with the delivery details and tracking info.
• For eGift Cards: You’ll receive an email with the gift attached — ready to print, forward, or share. Didn’t get it? Check your spam or download it anytime from your confirmation page.
• For transfers: If you withdrew the funds, we’ll email you once the transfer has been made. Please allow up to 2 business days for it to appear in your account.

Tip: Download your card and gift from the confirmation page, then simply send it to your friend. If you entered your friend's email when choosing your eGift Card then we've emailed it straight to them. Easy!
